Extension Web Services is a dedicated web development and support team for all of MU Extension. Whether you need webpages for a new program or initiative or to update your content to keep it current, the team is here to help. In addition to creating and updating pages, they are available to consult on how to best present your information to Missourians in the online environment. Raising MU Extension webpages to the top of search results is a key goal of the team. They use their expertise in search engine optimization (SEO) to ensure that search engines, such as Google and Bing, not only index extension webpages and content but also prioritize this information in their results.

The help desk offers support related to all aspects of the website, including event pages and online courses, and fields general questions, which they forward to the appropriate specialists for response. The help desk can be reached at imc@missouri.edu from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on university-observed holidays.

Let’s have a discussion so we can understand the problem you are trying to solve. We will advise whether an existing solution is in place within MU Extension. If none is in place, we will partner with ETCS and DoIT to conduct a comprehensive search to discover if an appropriate tool has been licensed anywhere in the UM System. Failing that, we will coordinate a scan of the marketplace to identify potential solutions.

Operational support systems

The integrated web services platform comprises five best-in-class operational support systems (OSS) that provide website and content management capabilities with e-commerce, advanced search, e-marketing, e-learning and event management services for MU Extension and other campus and UM System groups. In addition, integration with Office Depot enables extension publications to be managed via print-on-demand, relieving extension from the operational costs and maintenance of a physical publications warehouse.
